HeavyLoad 3.4.0

HeavyLoad is intended to stress all resources of a PC (like CPU, GPU, RAM, hard disk, operating system, etc.) in order to test if it will run reliably under heavy load. This is useful for testing important file or database servers before using them productively, or just for checking if your new PC might get too hot when used intensively. To stress your PC or server, HeavyLoad writes a large test-file to the temp folder, it allocates physical and virtual memory, performs complex calculations and it draws patterns in its window. By pushing your system to the limit, Heavyload will show you how well your PC can handle stress.

As its name implies, Heavyload is a system stress tool that enables you to view how the computer behaves when faced with scarce memory, low disk space and high GPU or CPU usage. It comes in handy for testing the reliability of database servers and the performance of any PC.

The application is easy to use and its main interface displays charts that describe the CPU usage, the disk free space, the available memory and the frames-per-second rate, enabling you to view the evolution of these indicators before and during the simulation, in real-time.

You can set the application to perform the tests continuously or end them automatically after a predefined time. The process can be paused whenever you want and you can select the time interval to update the statistics charts.

The testing methods can be customized as you desire. For instance, you can set the program to simulate full load on the CPU or just a specified number of cores, as well as choose the thread priority.

The graphics card processor's reliability is tested by running a 3D rendered graphic application, enabling you to view how it behaves under heavy load.

In order to perform the physical and virtual memory test, the application enables you to set the allocation speed and set a usage limit, under which the simulation stops.

Heavyload can also perform disk space tests by writing a test file to the hard disk at adjustable speed and enabling you to set the free space threshold. When the user-defined limit is reached, the test file is overwritten in order to lower disk usage again.

In addition to this, it comes with an option to simulate multiple simultaneous accesses of files and folders, on all the local disks, in order to test the hard disk capabilities.

All in all, Heavyload provides you with a set of benchmarking tools that you can use to stress all the system resources and bring it to its limits. It comes in handy for viewing whether your PC runs reliably when used intensively.
