Dimmer 1.0

Dimmer is a little portable tool designed to help control the brightness of your computer screen, specially to reduce the brightness beyond what the hardware alone is capable of. This becomes very useful when you are in total darkness and the minimum brightness from your display is still too much. It can dim all screens and monitors; LCD, TFT and LED backlit types. Dimmer will not damage your screen or monitor in any way, if anything, it might actually save the backlight and consequently, energy, by making it emit less radiation. Given this is a portable tool, no installation is required to use it.

If you own an older computer, its display might not come with efficient controls for brightness adjustment, which can be inconvenient sometimes.

Fortunately, specialized software solutions such as Dimmer can help you overcome this limitation by providing you with relevant options.

Please note that this program requires .NET Framework to be installed on your computer so that it can run as intended.

Since it is portable, you do not need to install it on the target computer, as simply extracting its archive's contents and launching the executable lets you operate its functions entirely.

You can also run it from removable storage media such as external HDDs or USB flash drives. More so, this utility does not modify any of your Windows registries nor does it create auxiliary files or folders on your PC.

After you launch Dimmer, it automatically minimizes itself to the system tray, so that it does not interfere with any of your active processes. Accessing its interface can be done by right-clicking its tray icon and choosing the Configure option from the context menu.

Its main window features two interactive functions that can be easily understood and operated by many users, rookies and professionals alike. Simple instructions are also provided to you, in case you encounter any difficulties.

You can use this application if you need to adjust your screen's brightness quickly and without significant efforts. Doing so can be accomplished by opening the Configuration menu and dragging the slider bar until you are satisfied with the result.

You can also tick an Information checkbox, but performing this action does not yield the expected feedback. More so, closing and opening the Configuration window displays an unticked checkbox each time.

To wrap it up, Dimmer is a simple application that can help you control your screen's brightness with ease. It is portable, features a minimalistic interface and provides you with simple instructions.
