Mail PassView 1.85

Mail PassView is a portable tool that recovers and displays passwords and account details for several popular e-mail clients, including Outlook and Outlook Express, Thunderbird, and Eudora. It can handle POP3, IMAP, HTTP, and SMTP accounts, depending on the particular client.
If you use multiple e-mail clients or accounts, you probably know that it can be hard to remember all your passwords, especially for those accounts that see little traffic. Unfortunately, those are usually the ones you really, really need when you need them. Mail PassView can help you quickly recover your password.

Mail PassView, is a small and straightforward software application developed to help users recover lost or forgotten password from email clients like Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird, as long as they are saved within the programs.

Since there is no setup pack involved, you can drop the executable file to a custom directory on the hard disk and just click it to run.

It is also possible to save Mail PassView to a USB flash drive or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any workstation seamlessly and without prior installers.

An important aspect to consider is that the Windows registry does not receive new entries, and leftovers are not kept on the HDD after eliminating Mail PassView, leaving it clean.

The interface is represented by a regular window with a plain and intuitive layout, where a list of all passwords found in your installed email clients is shown at startup, so you do not have to make any configurations.

Apart from the password, account and application name, this list shows information regarding the server, server port, security status, type, email address, profile, password strength, SMTP server, and SMTP server protocol.

Mail PassView lets you generate an HTML report with all or just selected items, copy items to the Clipboard, use a search function when dealing with large amounts of data, add a header line to CSV, and so on.

The application is very light on the system resources, running on low CPU and RAM. It is very responsive to commands and works well, without causing the operating system to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs.

All in all, Mail PassView gets the job done when it comes to recovering passwords hidden under asterisks which are saved in email clients, and it can be used by novices, thanks to its overall simplicity.
